AGASCO’s Anerobic Digester Plants are designed to reduce coal used in drying and destroy harmful methane gas which is a bi-product of the washing process in Cassava Factories. 

AGASCO’s Anerobic Digester Plants are part of our wider clean energy projects which also include Solar as well as Biogas renewable energy.

Vietnam and beyond

Cassava roots are peeled, washed and grated. The grated pulp is steeped for 2-3 days in a large quantity of water, stirred and filtered. The filtrate stands overnight and the supernatant is then decanted. The starch sediments are dried. This process creates large quantities of waste water which is then treated in the anaerobic digesters to extract and burn off the resultant methane gas. This heat from the burnt methane is used in the drying process replacing the previous coal burners.
